Easy Way to Switch Between Screen Resolutions from Mac Shortcuts Menu

Use Jake Hilborn’s displayplacer:

Shortcuts menu showing multiple display resolutions

This is like getting a custom basic version of switchresx (or the broken easyres) for free.

The shortcut itself will be custom to your monitor ID and the resolutions it’s capable of. Mine looks like this:

You can run displayplacer list to get the exact command you need to put in the shortcut.

Big thanks to Jake for the really cool (and free!) utility!

Update: I made this even better by creating additional shortcuts to automatically open certain apps in certain resolutions. For example, I have a spreadsheet and a browser open in one high resolution screen, in split view. (Better than using Spaces to do the similar, as Spaces disappear when you restart your computer.)
